Tonight, I went to the Ladies of Harley meeting as an excuse to get out and ride and talk to some friends. Scheduling in the recent past has not allowed me to attend an LOH meeting in the last couple of months so I wasn’t sure what I would find.
When I arrived at Nikki’s Smokin’ BBQ, I was pleasantly surprised to find about 12 other men sitting in the restaurant talking. Of course, I joined in and we added a couple more fellas as the evening wore on. The LOH meeting was being held in another room that I had yet to enter.
Some dinners began arriving and after a while, Sandy Engle approached and asked me a question about the upcoming HOG Safety Day. I thought it would be easier for me to explain things so I offered to enter the LOH room and answer their questions.
WHAT A SURPRISE!!! When I walked through the door, the entire room was full of ladies…no kidding…it was “standing room only.” There must have been 25 to 30 ladies present discussing upcoming HOG LOH events. These gals were having a great time, laughing and cutting up while getting some work done.
As the Director of Bakersfield HOG Chapter 1580, it made me proud to see how active our LOH group is. This group is a direct reflection on the entire HOG organization and they were fulfilling the most important part of our HOG motto, to “RIDE AND HAVE FUN.” I now wait with anticipation for the upcoming LOH events for HOG. With this many active members, there’s got to be some exciting things planned.
